It Is Almost Over

Finally, I can live with the knowledge that for the next month politics will not lead the news. Well, it will be a few days, but it's gonna happen. No politics. At least until January when the next batch of egomaniacal sociopaths announce they are running for President in 2012. It will be sweet.

I'm also looking forward to the press being forced to deal with their unwavering and blatant support of Barack Obama. Whether Barry O. wins or not, they will have to deal with their sycophantic behavior over the last 2 years. If he wins, they will have to find some way to be a bit more critical of Mr. Obama, or risk losing their audience (which coincidentally enough has shrunk as a result of their psychotic falling over themselves to kiss his ass. He's not the Messiah they all believe him to be, and they'll be forced to deal with that (or worse yet, they'll be so beholden to the new President that they'll have to work extra hard to stay in his good graces). If he loses (which they'll tell you isn't even a possiblity since all of their polls show him kickin' ass and takin' names) They'll have to deal with a President who has no reason to trust or respect them, after the tremendous amount of effort they have put into ruining his campaign.

What has happened to journalism in America? Honestly, I don't remember "reporters" who were so boldfaced and open about their support of a candidate when I was a child, or hell even as a teenager. But, with Barack Obama, new levels of support are coming out of these crazy people's mouths. I'm not talking about pundits, I'm talking about the folks who cover both parties' national conventions gushing over Barack Obama, then deriding everything Sarah Palin and John McCain do, it's disgusting. Chris Matthews is supposed to be an unbiased reporter of political news, but he is far from unbiased. Not once have I watched his terrible show have I heard a critical word of his highness Barack Obama, but John McCain can't even tie his shoes right.

I have no problem with people criticizing John McCain, we need to know what's wrong with our candidates, because we will never get a competent candidate, so we need to choose the lesser of two evils every 4 years. Is Barack Obama's greatest shortcoming his battle with cigarettes? Really? (Which is another issue altogether with how anything tobacco is instantly vilified, even people who sell it or consume it, but somehow it's only briefly mentioned that their grand savior had some trouble kickin' the habit on the campaign trail.) Can't they point out that he is a Socialist? Come on, his fans leave his rallies talking up how under Barack's Benevolent Rule they'll never have to worry about money again and he said as much to "Joe the Plumber".

Speaking of "Joe the Plumber", that is the most appalling thing to ever happen in journalism, ever. Hands down. The media, instead of focusing on the in your face Socialism, they swooped down into this regular citizens life, and did everything in their reporter power to destroy him. Last time I checked the candidate's families and the anonymous folks in their crowds were off limits. But not to the new emboldened media, that agrees with Barack Obama that people who live in the "Red States" are just a bit too clingy with their guns and Bibles.

I just can't wait for it all to be over. I don't care who wins, either way (like every other Presidential Election since Kennedy) the American People are going to lose. McCain is clueless, and Obama will tax everyone into poverty, that or bankrupt the U.S.A. faster than George W. Bush with all of his glorious new spending.
