Welcome to the Health Care Town Hall-a-thon

The health care debate is still going on. I was hoping it would just die, after all approving such a thing is political suicide. But, Barry O. and his Democratic cronies are so sure that they can get away with anything right now, that they are pushing to fast track a horribly conceived law onto the American People. Now, with protesters and "disturbances" at town hall meetings on the subject throughout the nation, I can no longer ignore the issue.

First, the town halls. As you are well aware by now if you've read any of the comments on any news site, every single one of the people who has spoken out against the health care plan is bought and paid for by "big pharmaceutical", "big insurance", or "big evil" in some way. This is undoubtedly true, because no person in America could possibly not want to have higher taxes to pay for insurance for everyone in the country. Literally, everyone in the country, it doesn't matter if they're tourists or illegal immigrants. Every single American wants free health care, that much is true. But the psychos on the side of this plan always fail to mention that this plan is not free. Far, far from it. If you don't like the cost of health care now, wait until it's free. I digress. These town halls were planned by the Obama Administration, and the Democrats in Congress. They were their idea, and yet if there appears to be any dissent to the plan in these meetings, the people speaking up are unAmerican, after all they are only shouting down their opponents (and being paid by pharmaceutical companies). Every major health care company is all for this plan, so why the hell would they pay for people to go and speak against it? Seriously. Read on to see what I mean, if you don't believe me. Isn't it funny that when any one protests against the Democrats they are causing disturbances, but when people were protesting the Iraq War they were doing their American duty? Speaking of, where are the protesters for the war now? I believe it is still going on, and we've ramped it up in Afghanistan.

The health plan reform plan itself is not reform of any kind, other than socialization of the current system. Spreading the wealth around and having everyone pay for everyone else. It is a government insurance plan. No reform. Sure, they'll force price fixing, using the force of the government to enforce it. Little good it will do. If there is anything to learn from decades of Medicare and Medicaid, the system is designed for massive fraud. Massive repulsive fraud. Many on the left are crying out that they want the system to simply expand to cover everyone with Medicare, they are idiots with no ability whatsoever to understand the world around them. Here's a fun example: You go to your eye doctor and you have and exam, it costs $135, but your co-pay is only $10. Now, your grandma goes to the same eye doctor, gets the exact same exam, and her bill is $920 with no co-pay, because it's Medicare covered. Do you really want this shit to go out and cover everyone? You are insane if you do. Those numbers are real, do some research. Medicare covers you, but it ain't cheap for the rest of us to pay for it.

The problem with the health care system in America is not the lack of coverage, all you have to do is go to the Emergency Room, they cannot turn you away, it is the law of the land. Coverage or not. Then just don't pay your bill. People do it all the time, most people who go through a medical bankruptcy actually have insurance, the people with no coverage just don't pay. So the people who don't pay, are paid for by the people who are paying taxes, and paying for their health care insurance. The hospitals charge the no pays to the insurance companies. The insurance companies charge you for the bankruptcies. So, it is an unending cycle. But what really exacerbates the problem is the insurance that your hospital and physician have to pay as well.

Yes, the hospital and doctors are all paying even more to insurance companies to cover malpractice claims. Who makes the malpractice claims? Lawyers. Filthy scum of the universe lawyers. Each year brilliant juries of peers offer out bigger and bigger claims in these lawsuits, which are paid out by insurance companies. The insurance companies then have to increase the premiums for hospitals and doctors. See where this is headed? The true fix for the health care system in America is to stop this shit from going on. First, we need tort reform, then we can worry about insuring all the people in America. If people are still suing the hell out of their doctors and hospitals, the costs are never going to come under control. There needs to be a limit to how much can be won in a medical malpractice case, $20 million for losing a leg is ridiculous on its face, sure your body parts are priceless to you, but not for me if I have to pay for it. There also needs to be a limit on who can make the lawsuits, if you didn't pay for your health care or have insurance, you are shit out of luck. Just because you got care and you feel you should have gotten reach around during your proctological exam, doesn't mean you should be able to sue. If you're still alive, be happy.

In the end, if the senators and representative want to keep their jobs, they won't vote for this. It is too dangerous an issue to ever resolve. I think that now that they have seen the reaction in the town hall meetings they are coming back to their minimal senses. Any American who believes that their Congress has the ability to fix a problem as big as our health care system in a 1 month time table offered up by the President should have their right to vote revoked immediately. ANYONE who is for this plan, has not thought about this problem in any depth. Action for the sake of action is just plain stupid, I believe it was also something that the dreaded Nazis and Fascists used to do. If I hear one more issue come up where Barry Obama feels it necessary to tell the American People that we need to do something, and we need to do it now, I am going to puke on myself, regardless of where I am. Needing to do something rarely means it has to be done now. If something's broken it is time to think out a solution before simply implementing the first thing that comes along, that's how you end up with a $1.7 trillion shortfall in the budget, and no real change.

Afterword

Recently, Rep. John Dingell compared this argument and the opponents to the "reforms" to the KKK during the Civil Rights Era. That is ridiculous, and those pushing these overreaches of governmental power are losing their credibility by constantly making everything out to be a crisis. The Democrats and the left do not own the moral high ground any more than than the Republicans or the right. This is not the equivalent to institutionalized racism within the United States. This is about doing the right thing for the American People, and doing the right thing is to think about the issue, debate it, and make actual progress on solving the problem. The overreaction of those pushing for the passage of this theft of the American People's money and extension of governmental power is against everything that Our Nation was founded upon. Do we seriously have a problem with cancer patients lying on the street dying and stinking up the place? No. We live in a nation where the average lifespan is increasing even while we get fatter and unhealthier.
